Cookies
Cookies are text files containing a small amount of data that an internet browser receives from a web server and stores on your computer in the format: name – value. The data are sent back to the web server during your next visit of the same website. This means that a website temporarily remembers certain actions made by you on it and you need not enter the same data again. Cookies are commonly used, for example, to save the content of a shopping cart on an online shopping site and to save other user preferences associated with browsing through a website. We differentiate two basic types of cookies: first-party (own) and third-party (owned by other parties).
- First-party they are created during the initial loading of a website and the first interaction with the website operator's server. They store, among other information, data on the selected colour scheme, web resolution, language settings, as well as a number of other parameters. The values are created by the visited website. The data are used only by the website, which stored them in the cookies.
- Third-party they are set by a domain other than the website domain visited by the user. They are usually created while browsing through a website and viewing various advertising banners. After a banner is loaded and read, interaction with a third-party server takes place and this third party marks the user with the aid of cookies, which may be subsequently arbitrarily monitored whenever the user accesses another website with the same banner.
You can adjust the use of cookies according to your preferences. You can delete all the cookies already stored on your computer and most web browser also offer the option of preventing cookies to be stored on a computer. However, if you select this option you will be forced to adjust certain preferences manually every time you visit a particular website, and certain website services and functionalities may be limited. Additional information associated with managing and processing cookies can be found at https://aboutcookies.org in English.
We use Google Analytics for common analyses of traffic on our website and the measurement tool only works with first-party cookies, which do not store any personal data. Each visitor is identified with the use of the computer – user – browser session. Google Analytics uses page tagging, which means that a JavaScript measurement code is pasted onto each page to provide data from the visitor's browser. Every time a page is loaded, the JavaScript code connects to the Google Analytics server collecting data and transfers them by means of cookies. You can easily control the processing of these cookies if you use the Google Analytics Opt-out plugin available for Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, and Microsoft Edge. Additional information related to the use of cookies by Google may be found in "How Google uses cookies" and "Types of cookies used by Google".
